I got some presents in the mail! I received two cards commemorating our 1,000 members at RSC. To celebrate we had a big virtual rubber stamp show. 23 vendors had "booths" and many (like Beeswax!) offered 20% off all rubber stamps! The show is over so if you missed it, you won't want to miss our next one in April. That will be our big one year anniversary! |

9-17-07 Look at this cool pendant I bought! This artist makes everything out of colored pencils and they are the coolest! How neat is it to be a rubber stamp artist, work with colored pencils and wear some awesome jewelry made with those same pencils? Take a look at her Etsy store for other pendants and some sea urchins made of pencils: Then take a look at her website for some large sculptures using pencils: |

I had a good time at my lampwork class with Eric. I learned some new techniques that I'm anxious to incorporate into my style of beads. Unfortunately I haven't had any torch time since the class because Beeswax has been too busy. Yes, that's really a good thing since Beeswax pays the bills! I hope to have all orders out before leaving Thursday for our last show of the year (whoohooooo) in SC. Other than that not much going on here. I still need to post some pics of the studio progress... |

Well I'm off to Washington to take my very first lampwork class with Eric Rader. Check out his website to see some serious bead art. I'm sure I'll learn tons of stuff. It will also be nice to get out of this hot weather. It's been around 105 degrees here lately. |

Here's the ATC I did for the "Best Friends Forever" swap on RSC. If you haven't been over to RSC yet I don't want you to miss out on our virtual rubber stamp show. It's from Friday 9/7-Monday 9/10. We'll have lots of vendors offering specials just for our "show". My Beeswax special will be an RSC special only. In other words you won't find it posted here and it won't be emailed to the Beeswax group. So if you haven't registered at RSC yet just click on the banner up top and get yourself registered so you don't miss out on any of the fun! |

Wally bought me a gorgeous hibiscus. Hope it does well here. We just cut the watermelon in the picture below and it's probably the best watermelon I've ever had. |

Wally and his prize "Wallymelon". This baby weighs about 16 pounds. Let's hope it's ripe. |

I'm at the Novi show and Wally just emailed me this picture of Misha eating a cantaloupe. These are some wild cantaloupe that are little miniatures so we call them Mishaloupes....he's the only cat that loves them. |

We have a family of six turkeys that like to hang out in our yard all day long. Here they are sitting in our old oak tree. |

7-29-07 Wally's pretty proud of his garden, which he should be. But it always cracks me up when he asks me to take his picture. We counted the tomato plants and there are 26 of them...I was off by one Stacy! I got a great tip on how to freeze whole tomatoes from alsmouse over on Rubberstampchat. I think these plants will be producing for a couple more months too. Below, watermelons. We just never know when their ripe though.

We've been having some really odd weather here lately. It gets humid and muggy which I'm really not used to. The other day was really overcast and strange and Wally went fishing and took this picture at sunset.

Wally planted over 15 tomato plants (what was he thinking?) and we are just loaded with tomatoes this year. I manage to put them in just about everything I make too.

Another odd sleeping position but this time it's Misha. Crammed between the window and the back of the chair and just as comfortable as can be. I've actually being doing a little bit of stamping. I joined a swap over at Rubberstampchat. It was an ATC swap with the theme "Best Friends Forever". I'll show you my card as soon as I'm sure everyone has gotten theirs. |

Well I'm home from the Springfield, IL show. I've never had such bad luck flying before. It's even rare for a flight of mine to be delayed 15 minutes. On the way to Springfield Thursday, DFW was shut down so all flights were canceled and the Sacramento airport was a mess. They tried to get me on any other flights through any other airports with no luck. Then they checked all flights on carriers that they do ticket exchanges with and every single option was sold out. The only way for me to get to the show was to buy a one way ticket on Southwest and wait 6 hours in the airport for the flight. I almost went home but I decided to toughen up and just do it. My way home yesterday was more of the same. I got stuck in DFW first due to flight delays, then our plane had an A/C problem that took 2 hours for them to figure out they couldn't fix because they couldn't find the part. Then the plane they finally found for us was delayed because of an electrical storm. All totaled up it was a 5 hour wait at DFW. I'm finally home though and getting lots of love from the 'dorables. Now it's time to play catch up with orders which may take awhile. So if you placed a mail order over the last few days I'm working on it! |
